1914 Boston Garter Larry Doyle #8 SGC Authentic - Only Two Graded Examples Known! The extremely rare 1914 Boston Garter series offers sixteen baseball subjects but most are members of Baseball's Hall of Fame. Each example of these advertising display pieces is hotly pursued for their beauty and because the next opportunity the acquire another may not ever present itself. These 3-7/8" x 8-1/4" full color rarities are certainly the rarest collectible of the featured player. Their rarity is explained on the reverse which proclaims how only one card was placed inside each box of 12 garters. Probably given to a store's best customer. This is one of only two confirmed (graded) examples. No like copy has been recorded by PSA. Encapsulated SGC Authentic. The reverse shows a small piece from a corner mount in the upper left. The front surface has a couple small areas of color added including into the left edge (to the left of the point where legs cross is an area that appears to have stock added and then in-coloring to enhance visual appeal. That aside, the physical integrity of the card is strong for this issue.
