    Description

1911 E94 Close Candy Ty Cobb PSA EX 5. UPDATE: Please note that the white discoloration apparent on Cobb's lower left torso is a defect in the PSA holder, not upon the card itself. Should the winning bidder desire, Heritage will have the card reslabbed after the auction. Identical in design to the E93 Standard Caramel card likewise presented within this auction, this one provides a green background for the Georgia Peach instead, one of seven color combinations seen within the issue. It's also noteworthy that the Close cards were issued with eleven back variations--ten with overprinting featuring the various candy products marketed by Close, and the eleventh with only the original checklist. Here we encounter that eleventh format. Typical edge wear is the only apparent fault, as the color and registration is wonderful, and even the centering is well within the acceptable range. One of just three Cobbs to rate an EX 5, with only two grading higher.
