1911 E94 Close Candy Tris Speaker "Oppie Dildock" Overprint SGC 35 Good+ 2.5. For the E94 enthusiast this card has it all. The player is legendary outfielder Tris Speaker. The background color is the coveted purple variety and the back displays a rarely seen "CLOSE'S OPPIE DILDOCK The Best of Candy Suckers" red overprint stamp on the reverse. The SGC 35 Good+ 2.5 grade reflects a pair of creases and corner wear but when are E94 or Speaker fans going to find another with this color and overprint combination.

    More Information:

    Who was Opie Dildock?
During that era there was a cartoon strip called "Old Opie Dildock's Stories." The cartoons told wild, over the top tall-tales of Opie and the Dildock clan and their made up adventures. Example, in 1913 one story was about how Opie played catch with and octopus so of course he took him to a baseball game of course. Considering the theme of the cartoon, it isn't surprising this back advertised "suckers."
