    Description

1910 E93 Standard Caramel Honus Wagner SGC 88 NM/MT 8. Second only to the great Ty Cobb in value within this thirty-card issue, the Old Dutchman shows the fielding form that made him the first shortstop to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame. Colors are so vibrant it's tough to believe that the card will be celebrating its centennial very soon, and a magnifying glass is necessary to discern any hint of edge or corner wear. In an attempt to put the outrageous scarcity of this treasure into its proper perspective, we note that only twenty-three cards from the entire E93 issue have achieved a rating of NM/MT or better, and this is the only Honus Wagner to have made the mark. As a 1/1 representation dedicated to the man likewise pictured on the hobby's most coveted card, the importance and desirability of the offered specimen is difficult to overstate. For the many hobbyists turning their attention from tobacco to candy, this could be the most exciting auction lot of the season.
