    Description

1910 E222 A.W.H. Caramels Shag Shaughnessy SGC 40 VG 3. Of the vast multitude of portraits seen on vintage baseball cards, few stand out more than the Roanoke Tigers' Shag Shaughnessy. The high-collar depiction and serious gaze depict a man taking his sitting so seriously, yet one can't help to feel the warm Virginia breeze blowing through that fantastic pompadour hair. His E222 A.W.H. Caramels card is extremely rare and certainly poses the greatest challenge for Shaughnessy fans. The front is printed in a reddish/brown while the back is standard black. There is obvious corner rounding and some light stains. Graded SGC 40 VG 3, this is the highest graded copy of only two recorded examples found on both PSA and SGC population reports.
