    Description

1910-11 M116 Sporting Life Ty Cobb, Pastel Background PSA NM-MT 8! From the same era where baseball cards were circulated with tobacco or candy, the multi-year, multi-series promotion sponsored by The Sporting Life must have been a welcome change for under age baseball fans and readers. Cobb was a fast rising star when Carl Horner captured this now famous portrait. Although not 25-years old, his portrait has that tenacity that would help Cobb become a legend. The condition report begins and ends with some modest corner tip wear and mildly less than perfect vertical centering. With only 62 total submissions noted on the PSA census, Ty Cobb's M116 is far, far more scarce than the other major releases of the era. And now you can own one of the finest examples. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. This card is one of four at the NM-MT, there are two rated higher.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
