    Description

1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal 350/25 Rube Marquard (Hands at Thighs) PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 - Pop One, Three Higher. Richard "Rube" Marquard won 201 games in his 18-year major league career. A sensation by the age of 21, Marquard debuted with the New York Giants in 1908. His less than stellar 0-1 start aside, the franchise paid a then-record $11,000 to secure his talents for the Giants pitching staff. Overall, the Hall of Fame pitcher led the Giants and Dodgers to five National League flags, but fell short each time in the post season. Of course this is no great dishonor when his World Series match-ups included talents like Eddie Plank and Chief Bender. There is no question this card is "World Champion" worthy.

Graded PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. Offered is his "Hands at Thighs" pose, one of three different poses of Marquard found in this classic series. The back displays a "Sweet Caporal - 350 Subjects" ad with a factory 25 caption. Extremely attractive with an almost too good to be true portrait and surrounding vibrant white frame. Among the ecards confirmed with a Sweet Caporal back, this card earns the title of "Highest Graded Example!" This is the single highest graded example confirmed with this player/brand combination.
