1909-11 E90-1 American Caramel Baseball SGC-Graded Near Set (108/120). The E90-1 American Caramel baseball series was the candy market's answer to the tobacco insert cards that were all the rage in this bygone era. Sold over a three year span, the extended list of later additions, Hall of Famers plus an enormously popular rookie card of Joe Jackson has made the completion of this edition a formidable task. Public offerings of a quantity approaching a complete set rarely appear. Although this set is the king of the "E" kingdom the overall supply of "E" cards is considerably small compared to the population of all but a few tobacco issues of the same era. It is obvious this 108-card near set was pieced together with an eye for visual appeal and bold illustrations as regardless of the grade each cards presents very well. The new owner will be well on their way to having one of the finer E90-1 sets in the hobby, both technically and visually.
