1903 E107 Breisch Williams Jack Chesbro SGC 30 Good 2. Graded 30 GD 2 by SGC, one of a pair at this grade with one higher. Rookie card specialists can spend years looking for that rare first appearance. Such is the experience acquiring the very rare rookie card of Hall of Famer Jack Chesbro from the E107 Breisch Williams series from 1903. In '03, Chesbro wasn't the only rookie that year, the very team itself was playing their first season in New York as the "Highlanders" in the still growing American League. The highly prized E107 depicts Chesbro in a formal portrait, bow-tie, stripped suit and all. A few light diagonal creases/wrinkles accounts for the technical assessment. The central image is gently affected by one upper corner crease. The reverse shows slight aging with a bold "One of a hundred and fifty prominent Baseball players" imprint. A must have card for the HoF rookie enthusiast.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
