1888 N28 Allen & Ginter Capt. Jack Glasscock PSA Mint 9 - Pop One, None Higher! Jack Glasscock played for 17 seasons and was a certified 19th Century baseball superstar. He is considered by many to be an unappreciated star who should be enshrined in Cooperstown. "Pebbly" amassed over 2,000 hits, held a .290 lifetime batting average and a .910 fielding average. His fielding average made all the more impressive when one considers his was an era without the benefit of a baseball glove. Upon retirement, his status was as the greatest shortstop the game had seen. His status eclipsed by a man named "Hans." The N28 Allen & Ginter "World's Champions" series holds a high status of sorts and is a staple in every 19th Century baseball collection. The ten baseball subjects are far and away the most pursued of the 50 subjects where there certainly aren't any bench warmers Graded PSA Mint 9, this is a "Pop One-of-One" conditional freak of nature. Of the over 3,600 N28 submissions to PSA, this is one of only a dozen cards to have survived with such a remarkable absence of wear or evidence of handling. No example has surpassed this elite entry. Almost seems too good to be true but here it is.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
