    Description

1888 N173 Old Judge Cabinet John Clarkson SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. It was during this period that Clarkson was a highly regarded 30+ game winner, revered by teammates and opponents alike. This Hall of Famer intended to pitch the 1895 season for St. Louis but retired instead, deciding to close out his career with the Cleveland Spiders that boasted a pitching staff featuring Young, Ewing and Burkett. Although pitching for only 12 seasons, he is among the all-time leaders in wins (328), winning percentage (.648), complete games (485), innings pitched (4,536) and several fielding categories. The image quality ranks mid-scale with a decent range of values, mildly affected by soiling and wear. The card mount has some light perimeter wear. Graded SGC 70 EX+ 5.5, the only example in EX+ with one nicer from a total population of only seven.
