1888 N162 Goodwin Champions Fred Dunlap/Baseball PSA NM+ 7.5 - The Highest Graded Example! Issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen Cigarettes, this set remains a favorite for many 19th century card collectors due to its gorgeous Victorian age lithography and a roster that includes the greatest stars of the era standing before glorious multi-hued skies Claude Monet would find envious. Offered is a very clean and problem-free card featuring Pittsburgh Capt. Fred Dunlap. Although not a member of Cooperstown, Dunlap was the highest paid player in Major League Baseball from 1884 to 1889. The "Sure Shot" nickname came for accuracy of throws to first, his talent also had him labeled by some as the "King of Second Basemen." Dunlap retired in 1891 after breaking his leg sliding into base. After retirement, he gave into his inner demons and died destitute in 1902. From his happier years we offer this high quality where after careful review find nothing to disagree with the PSA assessment. Graded PSA NM+ 7.5, this is the highest graded example on the PSA pop report.
