    Description

1887 N28 Allen & Ginter John Clarkson SGC 88 NM/MT 8 - The Finest SGC Example! It was during this 1887/88 period that Clarkson was a highly regarded 30+ games per season winner, revered by teammates and opponents alike. This Hall of Famer and 325+ game winner intended to pitch the 1895 season for St. Louis but retired instead, deciding to close out his career with the Cleveland Spiders that boasted a pitching staff featuring Young, Ewing and Burkett. Although pitching for only 12 seasons, he is among the all-time leaders in wins (328), winning percentage (.648), complete games (485), innings pitched (4,536) and several fielding categories. Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8, this is the stand alone finest example of the over 100 total cards submitted to SGC! An absolute visual attention grabber.
