Signed 1983 O-Pee-Chee Pelle Lindbergh SGC Authentic. Pelle Lindbergh of the Philadelphia Flyers was the first European goaltender to win the Vezina Trophy for the 1984/85 season. His NHL debut came with much promise in 1981 and was certainly headed for a HoF career. Unfortunately, the Sweden native's story ended in tragedy, when on November 10, 1985, Pelle lost control of his customized Porsche 930 Turbo and collided into the wall of a New Jersey elementary school, fatally injuring himself and severely injuring his two passengers. Offered is his rookie card #268 from the 1983/84 O-Pee-Chee series. The card is a very clean EX/MT example but the prize is the rarely see blue marker signature of the talented young man who was a star for the Swedish team in the 1980 Olympics. Gone, but not forgotten, this card is a perfect way to remember one of the greatest goalies of the 1980's. Encapsulated SGC Authentic. Cert #AU839542.
