Signed 1921 Exhibit Ty Cobb from The Ty Cobb Collection. Every fan of the "Georgia Peach" will feel all Ty Cobb cards are special. Few, if any are going to be as unique as this 1921 exhibit card featuring baseballs finest hitter. 1921 marked the first year the Exhibit Supply Co. issued baseball cards from penny arcade machines. Today, they are popular and mark the only cards issued throughout the 1920's and well beyond. The pose is a classic Cobb batting portraits that was used for other cards of the era. What justifies calling this card special is its origin from the personal collection of Ty Cobb! The card is in poor condition but that truly is a moot point. The reverse reads, "My Best Regards to old Friend" addressed to "Mr. Ty R. Cobb" with simply "Detroit Michigan" as an address. The postal cancellation is dated June 28, 1922 from Santa Cruz, CA. It is extremely rare that you have the opportunity to add a Ty Cobb card to your collection that was once owned by the baseball legend himself! Letter of provenance from family of Cobb's former teammate.
