Mickey Mantle 535th Career Home Run "Best Wishes" Signed Souvenir Card. "It was the 7th inning of a tough game against the Detroit Tigers who went on to win the pennant that year and become World's Champion. Dennis McLain, the strong right-hander, was on the mound. I was batting left-handed, and the count was 0 balls and 2 strikes, with nobody on base. The next pitch as a fast ball that looked like a good ball to hit. I swung, and there it was -- the 535th home run of my career, hit into the right field bleachers at Tiger Stadium. That home run broke Jimmy Foxx's home run record of 534 and placed me in the third position of all-time home run hitters behind the great Babe Ruth and Willie Mays. It was truly one of the greatest thrills in baseball and a moment I'll never forget."

"The Mick" penned the above paragraph on the reverse of this 5x7" souvenir card from Mickey Mantle's Country Cookin' Restaurant. The image on the front captures this majestic blast in black-and-white glory. Signed on the front in solid black felt-tip, Mantle has addressed the piece "To Don Best Wishes". Facsimile signatures appear on the lower right from and lower center on the reverse. Mild wear exhibited with some staining on the back. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
