    Description

Circa 1910 Joe Tinker Handwritten Twice Signed Postcard, PSA/DNA Mint 9. One of three lots within this auction deriving from the Joe Tinker family, this handwritten postcard features two autographs from the Hall of Fame shortstop for the last Chicago Cubs World Championship team. The obverse finds an image of Tinker dressed in early 20th century collegiate garb, identified in the white caption below as "Joe Tinker as 'Bud Hull' in 'Brown of Harvard.'" Along the right side he adds, "I am now trying to an actor (sic) this is my finish." Verso holds the message, "Dear Aunt Rose, We will have to have some pictures taken of the babies and I will send them right away. Ruby joins me in wishing you and the family a Marry (sic) Xmas & Happy New Year. Let us here (sic) often from you Rose. Your (illegible) Joe." All writing is in Tinker's 9+/10 black fountain pen ink. Card is not postmarked, suggesting it was enclosed in an envelope upon delivery. Very light handling wear but no flaws of note. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Mint 9.
