    Description

1934 Lou Gehrig Signed Government Postcard, PSA/DNA Mint 9. Modern statistics and analysis reveal that Lou Gehrig's fifth place finish in the 1934 MVP balloting stands as a true miscarriage of justice. The Iron Horse totaled seventy more hits, forty-seven more home runs, ninety-one more RBIs, and a batting average that finished forty-three points higher than the actual winner, Mickey Cochrane.

The reverse of the standard government postcard definitively dates this signature to one of Gehrig's finest season, with the postmark reading "MAY 9 1934". The side featuring the graphite autograph has black ink postal roller marks that do not interfere with the most important portion of the card, which PSA has deemed to be in Mint condition. Mild handling wear and edge/corner creasing exhibited only impacting the signature at its final letter. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Mint 9.
