1930's Lou Gehrig Signed Postcard. It's the image of the Yankee great as we like to remember him, a Yankee cap perched high on his head and his face creased with a humble smile, as if he were embarrassed by all of the attention being shown him. Shortly before the diagnosis of the terrible disease that would rob him of his career, and soon his life, Gehrig signed this postcard for a fan, inscribing "To Royce, Best Wishes from Lou Gehrig." The black fountain pen ink varies somewhat in boldness, but remains entirely legible front to back and averages about a 6/10 in quality. The postcard itself presents beautifully, with tack holes at top corners and bottom center but otherwise no noteworthy flaws. Elegantly matted and framed to dimensions of 7x9". LOA from PSA/DNA.
