Circa 1927 Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph. Wonderful image of a smiling Iron Horse comes to us from the daughter of its original recipient, a devout Yankees fan from Hartford, Connecticut. That hometown assists in the dating of the image, as we find that the man posing with the star first baseman and identified as "Mayor Stevens" in the original owner's hand, served in that role between 1924 and 1928 at Hartford City Hall. But the real point of interest here, of course, is the man shaking the mayor's hand, who has inscribed the 5.5x7.5" image "To Herman, Sincerely Lou Gehrig." His inscription rates a solid 8/10. The photo is affixed to a slightly larger card stock backing and exhibits no flaws that cause any noteworthy distraction. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
