    Description

1934 Al Simmons Signed Photograph by Burke, PSA/DNA Mint 9. This finest known photographic portrait of the future Hall of Fame outfielder is immediately recognizable as the work of George Burke, the Chicago-based shutterbug whose images define Depression-era ball. This flawlessly rendered 7x10" shot features an equally superb black fountain pen inscription from its subject, who writes, "To my friend, Frank Ruffenthal, Best Wishes, Al Simmons, Sept. 1st/34." Minimal corner wear is the only diversion from perfection. Burke stamp on verso. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, Mint 9. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
