1931 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph. One of a kind snapshot photograph finds the Babe sporting the uniform of "Babe Ruth's Universal Stars," a barnstorming club formed to promote Ruth's film career in the early days of the Great Depression. Posing with him is Lou Gehrig, wearing the more familiar road uniform of the New York Yankees. Each signs the image in bold black fountain pen ink, Ruth and Gehrig rating 9/10 and 10/10 respectively. The diminutive (2.5x3.5") snapshot exhibits some creasing and cracking of the photographic emulsion, but our catalog imagery should properly indicate that the visual distraction is minimal. The photo is mounted on a foam backing with a couple pieces of tape and could easily be removed if desired. A very interesting and appealing piece with phenomenally bold signatures. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
