    Description

1920's Rogers Hornsby Signed Large Cabinet Photograph. A big smile from a youthful Rajah, who appears in civilian attire in an image almost certainly snapped during his years of service to the Cardinals of St. Louis. Hornsby's black fountain pen inscription has oxidized to a gorgeous vintage brown, and reads, "To Cullen Cain, Very Sincerely, Rogers Hornsby." Contrast is imperfect against the sepia background but upon close inspection the writing remains quite bold. The cardboard mount surrounding the 7.5x10" image exhibits considerable wear, but this could easily be matted out to at least an EX overall appearance. A tough and impressively large signed photo from a period when Hornsby owned every National League slugging title. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
