1985 Ted Williams Signed Original Artwork by LaMontagne. Renowned sports artist Armand LaMontagne, the subject of an article in the January 22, 1996 issue of Sports Illustrated, recounting how The Kid became a friend of LaMontagne as the two worked together on various pieces. Of all that we've encountered, this is our favorite--a marvelous study of the swing that established Williams as "the greatest hitter that ever lived." The oil on canvas work provides stunning detail, down to the stubble on Williams' cheeks and the grain of his Louisville Slugger. We spot Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra and Casey Stengel looking on from the visitors' dugout. Williams' gold sharpie signature rates 7/10 at the left side of the work, which measures 23x29". A professional framing job expands the complete dimensions to 29x35". Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
