    1973 Willie Wells Handwritten Letter. Sadly it would be another twenty-six years, and eight after his death at age eighty-three, that Wells would finally be given his just reward of a plaque at Cooperstown, though he mentions his dream of induction in this scarce handwritten correspondence. He writes, in part (with no corrections), "Want to thank you for every thing hope this will find you and family in the best of health as for me and family are fine. hope to make the Hall of Fame that would be Great not much of a writter but had to let you know the check came in time..." He closes, "Mine in sport, Willie Wells." All ink is 10/10, and 8.5x11" page shows original mailing folds, otherwise EX-MT. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
