    Description

1969 Chicago Cubs Team Signed Display. They led the New York Mets by five games as late as September 4th, but then came the most Amazin' meltdown in team history as the club lost seventeen of its final twenty-five games while the Mets lost just six in the same span. Thirty autographs from this snakebitten club are provided in this expertly crafted display, with Hall of Famers Jenkins, Banks and Billy William on photo postcards, Durocher and a few others on trading cards, and the balance on unlined paper. A couple ticket stubs and a composite team image add to the aesthetics. The embodiment of the worst "curse" in baseball, right here. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence. From the Roger Marth collection.
