1958 Pee Wee Reese Signed Uniform Player's Contract. Though club owner Walter O'Malley had crushed the hearts of thousands of Ebbets faithful with an October 8, 1957 announcement of the squad's final decision to head west, this contract securing the Hall of Fame infielder's service for the sixteenth and final season of his career still refers to the team as the "Brooklyn National League Baseball Club, Inc." on the December 4, 1957 date of the signing. Surely even Pee Wee himself didn't want to believe the move to Los Angeles was for real. Typed notations on first page also list Reese's name and salary of "Thirty-six Thousand ($36,000) Dollars for the Season," and page three is signed "Harold W. Reese" and also by Club V.P. Buzzy Bavasi. Considering the contract's relevance as the last in a Hall of Fame career and the first for the Los Angeles Dodgers, this is one of the most exciting to reach the auction block in recent memory. Condition is a strong NRMT. LOA from PSA/DNA.
