    Description

1956 Roderick "Bobby" Wallace Handwritten Signed Note. Though Wallace earned a Cooperstown plaque for his batting and play at shortstop, it is worth noting that he entered the National League on the 1894 Cleveland Spiders' pitching rotation, taking cues from teammates Cy Young and John Clarkson. Here he replies to an autograph request and gives his personal take on a pitching issue, emphatically claiming "Spitter should not be allowed in modern baseball." All writing and his closing "Roderick J. Wallace" signature are applied in 9+/10 blue fountain pen ink. Page measures 2.5x4" and exhibits only a single small insignificant area of toning, otherwise NRMT. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
