    Description

1950's Ed Walsh Double Signed Hall of Fame Plaque. Walsh's path to Cooperstown was lubricated with saliva, and fellow Hall of Fame Sam Crawford would recount years later, "He threw a spitball. I think that ball disintegrated on the way to the plate, and the catcher put it back together again. I swear, when it went past the plate, it was just the spit went by." Presented is a tough black and white Hall of Fame plaque from the Chicago White Sox ace, autographed on obverse at the bottom margin. Verso holds a second autograph with an inscription reading, "From Ed A. Walsh, Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, N. York." Each autograph is 9/10 or better. Postcard exhibits considerable wear with staining, tack holes, creasing, but writing is unaffected. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
