    1948 Babe Ruth Signed "The Babe Ruth Story" Book--Wonderful Inscription! Some of the very last autographs ever signed by this titan of the sporting world were applied to copies of this biography, published during the final stages of Ruth's terminal cancer. This is probably our favorite of that highly collectible supply, evidence that the slugger's gentle and fun loving spirit stayed strong even as his once powerful body faltered. In flawless blue fountain pen ink, he writes, "To my two timer girlfriend Carrie From Her Lonesome boyfriend Babe Ruth." The book shows some handling wear and appears to have gotten wet at some point, but thankfully the inscribed title page is unaffected. Dust jacket is tattered and beyond repair, but present. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
