1947 Babe Ruth Signed Cut. Even in his declining years, as his health took a turn for the worse, Babe Ruth remained one of the most obliging signers for fans of all ages. He never seemed to tire of being in the public eye, and enjoyed the admiration he so richly received. For the collector looking for an affordable Ruth signature, this might be of great interest.

According to the notation on the bottom, this cut was obtained in LaGuardia Airport in New York City on Sept. 13th, 1947. The owner then taped the cut, which is actually the inside of a matchbook cover, completely to a sheet of plain paper measuring 4.25x5.5." The strength of the signature is about a 6/10. Technically higher as the entire signature is bold and legible, the addition of the yellowed tape over the top distracts from the boldness and hides the pencil autograph somewhat. Still, a very nice full example of a Ruth signature. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic. Includes Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
