1947-48 Leon Day Puerto Rican League Contract. Many of the greatest figures of the Negro Leagues suited up in the uniform of the Santurce Crabbers at some point in their careers--Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige, Roy Campanella and Ray Dandridge among them. Here we present the paperwork that brought fellow Hall of Famer Leon Day into the fold, purchasing his services to the squad for the sum of $200 a week. The "Contrato de Jugador," listing Day's hometown as Newark, New Jersey (where he pitched for the Newark Eagles), is signed in perfect blue ink by Day on the second page. Short of original storage folds, the contract remains in fine NRMT condition. One of the few contracts of any Negro League Hall of Famer known to exist. LOA from PSA/DNA.
