1940's Babe Ruth Signed Childhood Photograph. Marvelous image of the Babe as a babe is instantly recognizable as the future Sultan of Swat. Ruth injects a bit of his famous humor into the inscription that appears in the upper right quadrant, writing, "What a nice little boy at age 3. But now, Wow. To my Pals Herbie & Gertie, From Babe Ruth." The blue fountain pen inscription is touched by a single droplet of water near the close of the first line, but is otherwise a bold and unimprovable 10/10. The 8x10" photograph exhibits a considerable degree of creasing, and some toning at the corners, but our catalog imagery should accurately reflect that these faults have little impact upon the visual strength of the piece. Certainly a one-of-a-kind piece for the Ruth collector who has everything. Consigned by the nephew of Herbie and Gertie. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
    Guide Value or Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000.
