1939 Ty Cobb Handwritten Signed Letter re: Opening of Baseball Hall of Fame from the Hayward Binney Archive. It's a short note, but the content is absolutely huge. Cobb writes, "Dear Hayward:- I plan to be in New York at Pennsylvania Hotel June 13th-14 & 15th, hope can see you. Received your card from Savannah in March. Am going to Cooperstown, N.Y. for dedication of Baseball Hall of Fame, Hurriedly, Sincerely, Ty." This is the only letter from Cobb we've ever encountered that discusses his impending enshrinement, making this arguably the most desirable entry in the Hayward Binney archive. Original mailing folds and small hole at upper left. All ink 9+/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
