    Description

1939 Eddie Collins Signed Baseball Centennial First Day Cover. Postmarked from Cooperstown, NY the day of the Baseball Hall of Fame ribbon cutting ceremony, this highly collectible first day cover is made all the more desirable by the addition of a splendid blue fountain pen signature from one of that day's honorees. One of the smartest and most highly skilled players of his age, Eddie Collins was a six-time World Series winner and is often ranker as the greatest second sacker in history.

Postal cover with embossed baseball centennial logo and postage stamp is signed "Eddie Collins" in 8.5/10 black fountain pen on a straight black line with "Second Base" typed below, both of which were added beforehand by the original autograph seeker to guide Collins. Later, a 1983 Ruth first day of issue was added. COA from SGC. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
