    Description

1934 George Wright Signed Document Dissolving "Wright & Ditson" Sporting Goods Company. Like Orville and Wilbur, the Wright brothers known and George and Harry earned immortality as essential pioneers in their respective field of endeavor, the latter siblings responsible for the formation of the first professional baseball team, the development of statistical record keeping for the sport, and the early baseball uniform. Wright earned six Championships with the Cincinnati and Boston Red Stockings, and grounded out to shortstop as the first batter in National League competition in 1876.

Nearly six decades after that historic grounder, an eighty-seven year old Wright released his grip on his eponymous sporting goods manufacturing company, allowing it to be absorbed by a company founded by a fellow early baseball pioneer and eventual Hall of Famer, Albert Spalding. His advanced age, and perhaps more than a tinge of sadness, leaves Wright's black fountain pen signature a bit shaky, but still easily 9+/10 in boldness. Wright autographs are rare in any format, but the sad and official nature of this single typed page sets the offered example apart from that thin supply. Original storage folds and punch holes at left edge, with a light corner bend, otherwise fine. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
