1932 Clark Griffith Signed Sam Rice Washington Senators Contract. Standard Uniform Player's Contract was intended to secure the Hall of Fame outfielder's service for what would prove to be his last great season, supplied at the advanced age of forty-two years. Rice would reach the 1,000 milestone with his first RBI of 1932, and post his final .300+ batting average at the close. Hall of Fame owner/manager Clark Griffith's 9/10 black fountain pen signature stands alone on the contract's second page, suggesting there was some alteration to the proposed $8,500 salary for Rice that rendered this paperwork moot. Original storage folds, otherwise EX-MT. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
