1917 Barney Dreyfuss Signed Letter to Billy Southworth, PSA/DNA Mint 9. One Hall of Famer writes another. Before Hank Greenberg and Sandy Koufax, it was Barney Dreyfuss who battled anti-Semitic sentiment to reach the pinnacle of the sport, leading his Pirates to four National League pennants and one World Series Championship. Here he works toward bringing Southworth onto the Pirate ship, and the future Hall of Fame manager would spend 1918-20 in Steeltown. Dreyfuss signs at the close in 9/10 black fountain pen ink on this official team letterhead. Original fold lines but no other issues of note. Original mailing envelope is included. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, Mint 9. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
