    Description

Mid-1960's Jimmie Foxx Signed Gold Hall of Fame Plaque, Slabbed by PSA. In one of the rare instances in which the signed gold plaque surpasses in scarcity and value that of the older black and white version, this Foxx autographed specimen stands as one of the very few to surface in the hobby. The reasoning is simple--while the black and white plaques were in production as of the time of Double-X's Cooperstown induction, the gold model first appeared in late 1965. Eighteen months later, Foxx would choke to death, several years before the invention of the Heimlich maneuver that may have saved his life. The intense scarcity of the later cards in an autographed state puts them at well over twice the value of the older style in Sports Market Report's price guide. The bold black autograph appears on the verso of the card, which is slabbed by PSA for conservation and unquestioned authenticity. LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/ PSA DNA.
