    Description

Mid-1950's Roy Campanella Signed Yearbook Photograph. The Brooklyn Dodgers catcher saw his Hall of Fame career tragically cut short by a terrible 1957 automobile accident that confined him to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. Though Campy survived another thirty-five years beyond that fateful winter night, his injuries transformed his autographs to a childlike scribble, leaving pre-accident signatures like the presented example to be highly prized by collectors. This flawless 10/10 blue ink offering, complete with "Best Wishes" notation, appears upon a clipped black and white yearbook photo of Campanella in the Ebbets Field clubhouse. The 6x6.5" clipped image has tape remnants at the corners from scrapbook removal, but otherwise presents wonderfully. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
