Late 1950's Ty Cobb Handwritten Signed Letter Display. The Georgia Peach covers a number of topics in this lengthy letter penned on what is effectively five pages of 4x5" note paper. The writing is on front and back of two folded sheets, but the display has a window in back so that the entirety of the letter can be read. Perhaps most interesting is the reference to a project in the works: "Prentice-H people seem worked up about the book had much interest shown by McCoy & Doubleday, etc." He is almost certainly referring to the famous Al Stump biography, "My Life in Baseball: The True Record." Cobb also discusses the growing health woes which would end his life in 1961. Letter is signed, "Sincerely, Ty." Ink averages 9/10 throughout. Letter is attractively matted and framed with an art print, a couple modern Tigers pins and an engraved plaque to dimensions of 23x40". Third party shipping required. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
