Early 1960's Jimmie Foxx Handwritten Letter. The second man to earn a key to the 500 Home Run Clubhouse, Foxx was in his declining years as he penned this two-page note to a friend. He begins with a note about his poor health, then makes reference to his equally poor finances and the approaching release of the collectible Hall of Fame Busts: "I hope they sell a million of those busts," he writes. "I need it." He goes on to praise Tris Speaker as the top center fielder ever, and Joe DiMaggio as the greatest since him. He closes with "Sincere Regards, 'Jimmie' Foxx." All ink, including closing autograph, is in 10/10 blue ink. Single 5x8" lined sheet has vintage tape repairing tear at mailing fold that affects six lines of text, though not the autograph. Other than this consideration, the page itself is also very strong. "Double X" makes for a particularly tough ALS, and though short, this one is packed with touching and relevant content. LOA from PSA/DNA.
