    Description

1979 Happy Chandler Signed Letter re: Integration of Baseball. "Making the Jackie Robinson decision in 1947 to break the color-line in Baseball was my most memorable occasion during my time as Commissioner," writes Chandler in this important letter typed on his personal letterhead. He also discusses his greatest disappointment, and suggests that "I protected the integrity of Baseball which was my highest duty." Blue felt tip closing signature is 10/10. Original mailing folds, otherwise fine. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
