1956 Ty Cobb Handwritten Signed Letter & Mailing Envelope. The failing health that would take the Peach's life in six years' time is referenced in this brief letter to Cobb's hometown doctor, penned on Emory University Hospital letterhead. He closes with the assurance, "I feel fine. By the way stop forwarding all mail when you receive this. Hope see you soon, I am as ever, Ty." All writing rates 9+/10 in Cobb's trademark green ink. A couple minor stains to the single 5.5x8.5" page cause no serious distraction. Original mailing folds. Also here is the original mailing envelope, likewise penned in Cobb's hand with "T.R. Cobb" written above the hospital's printed return address. Some tearing from the opening of the letter passes between the initials and last name, but still leaves this second autograph in fully presentable condition. An intriguing personal look into the life of one of the game's most compelling figures. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
