    Description

1952-53 Ted Williams Handwritten Signed Love Letters Lot of 3. The Splendid Splinter was married and taking a leave of absence from the Boston Red Sox after having been recalled to active flight duty during the Korean War when he penned this trio of letters to "Miss Norma Williamson" (a name that effectively provides extra autographs from the superstar slugger on each included mailing envelope. We'll leave the juicy details for the winning bidder to read, but suffice it to say that it's clear that Ted and this young lady were more than mere pen pals. Each letter is two pages long, with two of the three penned on individual pages; the third is written on front and back of a single page. Two are signed "Ted," the third simply "T." Each letter exhibits original mailing folds but no other issues of note, and all ink is 9/10 or better. Envelopes are addressed in Williams' hand, but unsigned. Individual Full PSA/DNA LOA for each letter. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (one for lot).
