Framed together in this attractive piece that includes a Purple Heart and a World War II medal are a pair of signed typed letters from two of baseball's renowned executives The pair of letters here originate from 1944 and detail the shipment of one dozen baseballs that were hit into the stands of Breadon's St. Louis Cardinals' park and returned by the fans for the purpose of going to men in Service. NL commissioner Ford Frick and Breadon each offer high-quality fountain signatures to these documents that give insight into the brotherhood and civility that spread across the country during times of war.
