1942 Pee Wee Reese Signed Handwritten Letter to Lee MacPhail. It seems obvious from the way he played the game that "Pee Wee" Reese greatly enjoyed his profession. Based on this handwritten letter regarding his contract for 1942, that sentiment is again validated. Responding to a letter from Lee MacPhail asking Reese to come to New York to discuss his contract in person, Reese writes that he would greatly prefer to just have the contract mailed to him and he would sign it. He seemed quite sure that he would be happy with whatever the team offered, stating, "I am sure that you will be fair with me, and offer what I deserve." He goes on to say that he feels fine and is ready to do his best to win another pennant.

The two-page letter is written and signed in 10/10 ink, with a couple of small water stains. The accompanying Lee MacPhail typed letter is unsigned. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
