    Description

1942 Fred Snodgrass Signed Letter re: Near Riot at Boston Ballgame. Hilarious letter will make you love this famous New York Giants goat if you didn't already, as he tells in great detail the story of how he almost started a riot in Boston after the 1914 "Miracle Braves" mocked his famous 1912 World Series error. A small excerpt of the lengthy tale: "As I crossed second base on the way to pick up my glove lying behind the bench, some quirk in my makeup made me thumb my nose at the entire assembly which was the signal for one of the greatest barrages of pop bottles and what have you that had ever been thrown at any one player..." Typed letter on "Fred Snodgrass Quality Appliances" letterhead is signed at the close in 9/10 blue ink. Original mailing folds, no other issues. Original mailing envelope included, as well as a second signature on the back of Snodgrass' business card, 10/10. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
