    Description

1941 Bill Klem Handwritten Signed Letter. Just weeks after concluding his thirty-seven season Hall of Fame career, the "father of baseball umpires" wrote to the secretary of the National League regarding his expenses for his final trip back home from the ballpark. His distinctive angular script reads, in part, "Give my kindest regards & wishes for a pleasant off season to the office force in general, and particularly to The Boss." All black fountain pen ink, including Klem's closing signature, is 10/10. The page of personal letterhead exhibits original mailing folds and a staple hole and paper clip impression, otherwise NRMT. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
