    Description

1940 Ty Cobb Signed Letter. Single typed page apologizes for a delay in response to a Tyrus V. Dahl at Texas A&M. Cobb writes in part, "I am very happy to have received the announcement and to say that I feel very much honored that you have the same name as I and my only hope is that you will be able to live up under the handicap..." A marvelously bold black fountain pen signature appears at the close. The personal letterhead presents original mailing folds and minor bends at upper edge, but no other flaws to mention. A solid and attractive medium for one of the hobby's most essential autographs. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
